About the Meeting

Do your employees:

  • Believe that their job is important to the company's mission?
  • Have the opportunity to do what they do best, every day?
  • Feel committed to doing quality work?
  • Have the materials and equipment they need to do their work right?

Henry Ford is quoted as saying, “Quality means doing it right when no one is looking. Do you, your employees, and your colleagues operate this way?

Citing from her recent experience with a local manufacturing firm, Lela will integrate core principles from Lean Production and Gallup StrengthsFinder. This interactive dialog will cover why the 3 P’s are critical to a team’s peak performance and will outline strategies you can employ to bring more attention to each area in an integrated approach to Quality.

  • Purpose - Best selling author Simon Sinek has a simple but powerful model for inspirational leadership about starting with your Why. “People don’t buy what you do; they buy why you do it. And what you do simply proves what you believe.” We’ll spend time focusing on the softer side of “Why Quality."

  • Participation - People are at peak energy and performance when they get to do what they do best every day. We will spend time talking about leaning into people’s Strengths rather than focusing on their weaknesses. This doesn’t mean we don’t solve problems and mitigate weaknesses - rather we improve performance by intentionally focusing on what people do well.

  • Process - Without a structured framework, teams experience chaos. Lela pulls together Purpose, Participation, and Process, making the case for all environments to start with 5S, in order to establish stability and move toward being Lean.
